Hey! James here! Well, here we are. We’ve finally made it to the album release experience, and it means the world that yoU’re here reading this. We’ve spent about a year and a half now making this dang album, and this is truly the best way to experience it. I can’t wait to guide you through all the crazy and beautiful things we’ve set up for this. So, without further ado…

Opaque was always meant to be the album opener. The demo, for the longest time, was just called “album opener”, and I had this note in my phone before we even started writing the album that just said “Start the album with big harmonies.” This song was our answer to that. This album’s concept all revolves around growth and the changing of seasons. When we wrote it (and in the time since) we’ve all found ourselves working towards being at peace with where our lives have taken us, and we tried to reflect that through the stories on this record. The first leg of the album represents Spring. Opaque is about getting off the ground; getting to a place better than the one we started at. The last record was all about dealing with each others’ pain (breakups, deaths of those close to us, life-altering plans changing, etc.), and we wanted this one to paint a picture of us starting fresh and growing into the people we wanted to be.
